28. Inspection and approval reports—These reports document the status of all con-
trolled inspections and approvals required for the project either by the project
specifications or by governing jurisdictional agencies. It is important to track this
information to ensure that the appropriate party who will perform the controlled
inspections and approvals is available in a timely manner, as well as to make the
work available for inspection so as not to impede the progress of the work (see
Chapter 3).
29. Filings and permits—The building department and regulatory filings for the proj-
ect all have associated permits, which need to be tracked to ensure that they are not
outdated, are renewed as required, and are signed off at each phase of the work (see
Chapter 4).
