7. Mineralized and altered pumice breccia
Relict primary textures can be preserved even in
extremely altered volcanic rocks. At the margin of a
massive sulfide lens at Hercules, massive chlorite
(black; C), massive pods of quartz-sericite-carbonate
(cream; P) and semi-massive spotty galena-sphalerite
(pale grey; O) have replaced diffusely planar
stratified pumiceous rocks. Relict tube pumice
textures are locally preserved in the altered and
mineralized pumiceous host rocks in both outcrop
and thin-section.
