Component 2: Communicating Clearly
This involves communicating accurately and concisely, both ver-
bally and in writing; providing timely and accurate information so
that people can make reasoned decisions and do their jobs well;
and creating and using formal and informal communication vehi-
cles, structures, and processes to keep others well informed.

Component 3: Listening Fully
This means giving your full attention to others before responding;
hearing what is said, with a minimum of personal bias; listening well
to people with communication styles different from your own; accu-
rately restating the opinions of others, particularly when you disagree;
asking relevant questions for deeper understanding; and encourag-
ing input from people who have a wide variety of perspectives.
