Change Curve.
Metrics and measurement are critical components of your change management approach. By this
time, some measurement has already occurred in the form of the change capacity assessment and the
stakeholder analysis. In addition, there needs to be concrete and specific data that reflects whether or
not the change management program is achieving its objectives, including whether messages are being
heard and training is effective. In general, you want the program to:
• Measure achievement of initiative goals and objectivesdThis is generally stated in the business
case (see the section on DG metrics and monitoring).
• Determine effectiveness of communicationdTest how well key messages are getting across to the
organization.
• Determine effectiveness of education/trainingdAssess if the education has provided the target
audience with the skills they need to be successful in the new environment and target areas
where additional skill building may be required.
• Measure speed of change adoptiondExamine the speed of adoption and intensity of resistance to
any new principles and policies.
