3.6 Conclusion
In this chapter, a typical MPC control structure was introduced, including the centralized MPC,
the single-layer multicontroller decentralized/distributed MPC, and the multilayer multicon-
troller decentralized/distributed MPC control structures. The properties of the MPC control
structures were introduced. Finally, an industrial example was depicted to illustrate the usage
of one of the DMPC control structures.
