In the case of industrial applications the title box will be far more detailed, and typical
examples are included in BS 308 to illustrate the scope of the content. Drawings are all
numbered and dated, but dates not only state the original issue date but also the dates
when various modification took place. A drawing therefore may be issue A, B, C, D etc.

                 Drawing procedure

Prints cost money and take time, so it is not intended that every drawing should initially
be undertaken on a sheet with a professionally finished border and block. A better system
is to keep the outline frame and drawing separate until all preliminary work and editing is
complete and then join them up to complete the project. The scale features in CADallow
you to take advantage of the space available so that the biggest possible image can be
                 fitted within the frame.

An A4 sheet is satisfactory for some good geometrical constructions, small assemblies and
component details. Draw the A4 sheet shown in Fig. 10.1.

An A3 sheet is sufficiently large for every assembly drawing in this book and can easily be
reduced in scale and printed on an A4 sheet. Set out an A3 sheet complete with a title
block and a parts list as shown in Fig. 10.2. The dimensional details of the block are
                 detailed separately on Fig. 10.3.
