highest-attained parameters (4.5 K; 46 kA, and 13 T), given in Table 5.8, were
reproduced while testing the PFCI made in RF. They were unrivalled at that
time (Fig. 5.20).
5.5.2 Toroidal Field Model Coil
The TFMC is the only model coil tested outside the ITF [9]. Unlike the D-shaped
ITER toroidal coil section, the TFMC has a racetrack configuration and is much
smaller (Fig. 5.21; Table 5.9). It induces a magnetic field, which is within 85%
of that to be produced by the ITER TFC.
