6. High temperature burning test
The degradable degreaser was burned at a high temperature of
850 C, with some residual ash formation. It was then analyzed using
infrared spectrography, and the ash formed was found to be mainly
sodium sulfate, which indicates that a surfactant containing sulfate radi-
cals is present in the degreaser. The experimental results are shown in
Figs. 6.30 and 6.31. It is clear that sulfate anions of surfactant are con-
tained in the degradable degreaser. The dual effects of degrading and
efficient degreasing can be achieved by using both anionic and nonionic
surfactants.
