198 Selection of Adhesion Promoters for Different
9.16 FLOORING
The following commercial adhesion promoters are suggested for the use in the production
of flooring: Bomar BR-742S, Chartwell B-517.4 & C-515.72.HR, and Vulcabond MDX.
They contain the following main active components: isocyanurate, polyester urethane
acrylate, and amine- and secondary amine-silanes.
An adhesion promoter or primary coat are applied before constructing the sports
1
floor covering. These adhesion promoters are moisture curable polyurethane prepolymers
containing considerable quantities of organic solvents for better penetration into the
1
undersurface.
Parquet, wooden floor coverings, and wood-based material boards adhesives contain
2
silane as an adhesive promoter. Amine- and vinyltrimethoxy-silanes are suggested in this
2
application.
