               important to put as many nickel hydroxide particles as possible into a given sub-
               strate, and improve its utilization. Such new electrodes are used for high-capacity
               nickel–cadmium batteries.
                As mentioned above, nickel–cadmium batteries have excellent characteristics
               and are used in diverse fields. Special-purpose batteries (Figure 2.14) comply
               effectively with the requirements for improvement of various devices, for example,
               high-capacity, fast-charge, high-temperature, heat-resistant, memory backup.
