             Industrial package boiler

             6.1 Industrial package boilers
A-type, D-type, and O-type package boilers are all watertube boilers.
A-type package boiler has two water drums, one steam drum, and gener-
ating tubes. A-type package boilers are smaller than D-type and will fit
smaller plants, but do not have the same power output as D-type package
                boilers.
O-type package boiler is smaller compared with D-type and A-type pack-
age boilers. O-type package boilers consist of one water drum and one steam
drum. Generating tubes are lined up from either sides of the steam and water
drums. O-type boilers are mainly used for fast steam production and reduced
                maintenance cost.
D-type package boiler has water drum, steam drum, and generating tubes.
Shipped shaped into a D-shape, hence the name D-type package boiler.
Fully shop assembled (packaged), two-drum, bottom-supported, which can
be shipped by rail, truck, or barge.
                Pressure 150–2000PSIG
Temperature saturated and superheat up to 1050°F
Fuel: natural gas, various waste, and off-gasses, #2-#6 oil
                Steam capacities up to 300,000lb/h

             6.1.1 Modular design
A two-drum, bottom-supported multiple gas pass unit, prefabricated modular
             construction for field assembly.
                Capacity: 100,000–700,000lb/h
                Steam pressure: to 1150PSIG
                Steam temperature: to 960°F
Fuels: liquid and/or gaseous fuels, blast furnace gas, coke oven gas, and var-
ious combustible by-product gases and liquids
