8.35 General scope of field work required for each electrostatic
precipitator
Casing
Prefabricate wall and partition panels
Install anvil beams and antisneak age baffles on end frames/roof beams and
bottom baffles
Set partition and wall panels; stabilize with top-end frames, bottom-end
frames and intermittently with intermediate roof beams and supporting bot-
tom baffles
Install remaining intermediate roof beams and supporting bottom baffles
Square and plumb casing and began weld out
Complete casing welding, including the hoppers
Drop in preassembled hoppers with lower alignment frames and scaffolding
inside
Secure interior cross ties between roof beams, end frames, and bottom
baffles
Hang inlet and outlet perforated plates
Preassemble and mount inlet and outlet plenums
Install inlet and outlet plenum cone sections
Install platforms, stairways, and ladders
Internals
Lift and set collecting plates into ESP
Join plate halves and attach plates to anvil beams
Do preliminary alignment of collecting plates
Preassemble discharge electrodes to high voltage frames
Lift high voltage frames and rest on collecting plates
Penthouse
Preassemble hot roof sections
Install hot roof sections
Install lower alignment frames to discharge electrodes
Suspend high voltage frames from support insulators
Complete welding of penthouse walls and hot roof
Weld out rapper sleeves (installed below)
ESP roof
Preassemble cold roof sections
Insulate underside of cold roof
Set cold roof sections and expansion joints
Install roof handrail
Install and weld out rapper sleeves
Weld out cold roof
Install rapper shafts, rapper adjusting studs, and rappers
Align rappers
Set TR sets
