13.2 Cavity Thermocouples
Thermocouples are a second means of instrumentation within the cavity, which give
temperature data from the mold and are normally located at the mold surface in a
non-class “A” area. They are set up in contact style on the mold surface and will leave
a witness mark, but this is not usually a problem on the ejector side of the part.
Figure 13.7 shows an example of an in-mold 1.5-mm diameter thermocouple.
