where P, = the received signal strength in dBm in the LOS but in the non-free-space area,
P 0 = the received signal in dBm is at the close-in distance where is the intercept
of the free space slope line,
y = the slope in range from the location at D, to the wall (the transition slope),
D, = close-in distance in meters,
FSws = free space path loss, and
d = the mobile radial distance from the base transmitter to the mobile receiver
in meters.
The line y is drawn so that it intersects at a point within the close-in distance D, to the
first wall. Thus, the received signal strength from D, to the room beyond the wall is
obtained.
