Though there are still priorities to be met for its full exploitation, the
development of microalgal biodiesel deserve a major effort from the inter-
national community, as it offers the way to exploit sustainable, cost-
effective, and clean alternative energy resources and can significantly con-
tribute to solve the energetic and environmental issues still unsolved.
