Figure 26-5 is how an indented bill of material (BOM) with both replenished and
min-max items might look. Parts with three colored zones are replenished (e.g., FPA).
Parts with two colored zones are min-max (e.g., PPD). Gray boxes represent nonbuffered
parts (e.g., SAC). The bracketed numbers represent lead times. The first number in the
bracket represents the particular part’s ASRLT, whereas the second number represents
the part’s manufacturing lead time.
THE DDMRP PROCESS
The DDMRP process includes innovations for both stocked and nonstocked parts. In both
cases, new planning rules have been implemented to promote unprecedented levels of
visibility for planning personnel.
SUPPLY GENERATION FOR STOCKED ITEMS
Stocked items (i.e., replenished, replenished override, and min-max) are resupplied as actu-
al demand forces the “available stock” equation of parts into their respective rebuild zones.
