               ❏ With a smile, ask the recruiter, “How can I make you look
                   good?”

                    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE
                                 “REAL” INTERVIEW


               This is what you have been waiting for! You have finally
               reached what is commonly thought of as the “job interview.”
               Everything you have done up to this point—the research, the
               résumé writing, the cover letter, the screening interviews—
               all comes down to this interview, the most detailed and
               challenging part of the process.



                           Interviewing with the Hiring Manager

               The hiring manager likely will be your future boss and is the
               ultimate decision maker. By the time you reach this point in
               the hiring process, your résumé will already have passed an
               initial screening, and you may have had one or more inter-
               views (by phone or in person) with HR or recruiting person-
               nel. Unlike the other professionals you have encountered
