towel dispensers. Not only does warm air drying help to eliminate viruses and bacteria
from washed hands, but it is also environmentally and economically beneficial.
Each case of paper towels weighs 29 lb, equating to 6.3 tons of paper towels per
year. Note that the waste assessment team’s trash sorts indicated that about 30.5 tons
of paper towels are consumed per year. While most of these towels are not used for
drying hands, there still may be additional opportunities for reducing paper towel
usage. This should be investigated.
