8.10.4 PAPER
The manufacturer generates 99 tons of paper per year. Included in this waste stream
are mixed office paper, paper towels, NCR paper, computer printout paper, old
newsprint, greenbar computer paper, envelopes, and carbon paper. Approximately
48.5 tons of this stream is recyclable and up to 30.5 tons could be eliminated by paper
towel alternatives as illustrated in Sec. 8.10.8. Of the recyclable amount, a minimal
amount of office paper is collected and recycled by the waste hauler at charge of $10
per month. However, the company is not paid for their waste paper. There are paper
