Use consistency in selecting colors. For example, if you start using navy blue for
headers at the beginning or a participant workbook or in printed material, use the same
color for headers throughout the entire piece.
Participants have varying preferences for colors based on cultural and personal expe-
riences. If you know of such sensitivities through your needs assessment or knowledge
of the learners and their organization, select colors accordingly. If you are not aware of
their preferences, do some research.
