The Installer presents a summary of the installation options before completing the installation.
8. If you are satisfied with your choices, click the Install button and
the installer will install the PRP application to your computer.
When the installation is complete, click Done.
Using the PRP
Now that we’ve installed the PRP, let’s create our first program. We’ll whip up
something simple so you can see how all this works before we bore you … er,
that is, before we review the program in loving detail.
NOTE: This is for the techie sticklers out there. We’ve already referred to
the “programs” you create with the PRP, and we will continue to do so in this
chapter. To be accurate, the PRP creates only a representation of a program.
When programmers write a program, this usually means they type source
code into an editor. The programs you create with the PRPare not source code;
they’re an abstraction of source code that is later translated into source code.
However, it’s a little awkward to write, “the program representation you
create with the PRP,” so we’ll continue to refer to what you create with the PRP
as a program. If you want to see what the PRP program looks like before it gets
translated into source code, we’ll show you that later in the chapter in the
section “How the PRP Converts a Program to Source Language.”
