        some key projects on your radar screen this month?”
        “What kinds of things are giving you headaches this
        week?” “What are you most proud of this month?”
        “What’s going well for you?” “How can I help you get
        things done here?” “How do you spend your time when
        you’re not working?”
           Their responses will lead to common interests, goals,
        concerns—or at least questions or issues you can ponder.
           Time spent putting out communication wildfires takes
        time away from making a profit and accomplishing a mis-
        sion. Do you have that time to spare? If not, circular com-
        munication may be your biggest untapped resource and
        greatest competitive advantage. Talk it up.
