sinister spin apart. This couldn’t be correct or true. There’s
an obvious bias and underlying motive here. That’s an in-
valid conclusion. Somebody’s not shooting straight with
me on this issue.
Trust totters at an all-time low.
So Where Does the Spin Stop
and the Scam Begin?
Walk into your office any Tuesday morning and your
jammed e-mail box contains messages with subject lines
that read “RE: Follow-up to Friday’s Discussion.” You click
it open to learn that a barrister in Nigeria wants to deposit
$40 million into your account. Another subject line from
Jennifer. “Will you be able to attend trade show?” Click it
open to discover you’ve been approved for a mortgage.
This is the culture in which you and I communicate.
According to a study done by the Pew Research Center
for the People and the Press, people no longer believe what
they read in the most prominent publications. Here’s the
breakdown of what percentage of people believe what they
read and where:
Wall Street Journal: 41%
Time: 29%
Newsweek: 24%
USA Today: 23%
