Business Benefits and Ramifications
DG support for EIM projects and programs will have many deliverables, outcomes, and interactions.
This is where the business absorbs and makes the managing of information assets a part of any other
business paradigm. DG will provide the additional discipline that is required. To be effective is to have
all of the supported efforts leverage common information and content areas, and share common
systems components. NotedI said will, not should. DG is part of EIM. EIM is the formal program to
do information asset management. Even if it is being done in smaller slices via an MDM project or data
warehouse, you are doing EIM. Therefore, you are measuring the EIM effort’s performance. You also
need to monitor the effectiveness of the change management efforts.
Approach Considerations
This activity is a collection of verifications and checkpoints. The key to all of the tasks will be how you
gather data that is believable, and then place it into the measurement and reporting formats you have
designed.
