Exercises
1. Remember a time when someone made a great ¿rst impression on you.
You really liked him or her the moment you met; you talked easily to
each other, as if you’d known each other for years. Try to reconstruct
what it was that attracted you to the person.
2. Think about the last time you really lost your temper or witnessed
someone else lose theirs. Did you (or the other person) demonstrate the
key elements of this overwhelming moment that we discussed in the
lecture? If it was you who “lost it,” how did the event leave you feeling
when it was over?
