                              FIRST ANGLE SOLUTION

                 Figure 4.9

                 A DXFfile (drawing interchange format) allows you to save a current drawing in a format
                 that can be read later and inserted into another file. Figure 4.9 consists of parts of three
                 previously drawn exercises, namely

              1. the top left component on Fig. 3.3;
              2. parts of the orthograph~cviews at the bottom of Fig. 4.8 (a);
              3. the first angle symbol from Fig. 4.2.
                 In order to combine three drawings we need one basic drawing and then transfer onto it
                 the other two parts. For this example we will transfer sections 1 and 3 above onto a part of
                 Fig.4.8(a).

                 Open your file for Fig. 3.3 and rename a copy with your own new file name (say ZZZ).
                 Delete the three parts you do not need. In the File menu click on Import/Export. A sub-
                 menu will appear. Choose DXF Out and the Create DXFFile dialogue box appears on the
                 screen. Insert your drawing file name and click OK. You will now have a DXF file of the
                 isometric view named ZZZ.DXF.
