Role/Title Functional Module Leads
Role The module leads provide leadership and overall direction for the implementation at
Definition the module level, ensuring the quality of deliverables and adherence to the project
plan and milestones.
Responsibilities • Communicate the objectives, scope, policies, procedures, status, and project issues
clearly to the module team.
• Develop and manage module work plans. Prepare status reports documenting
progress against plan.
• Assist the business in controlling project scope and minimizing customizations to
the software. Help to determine acceptable workarounds, and use the software as
delivered.
• Elevate project risks and scope issues to the project manager(s).
• Ensure that the deliverables created by the module team provide quality, add value,
and contribute to the project’s success. Implement and enforce standards for
deliverables.
• Ensure that all project-related activities are thoroughly documented.
• Identify staffing requirements at the module level. Communicate requirements to
project manager(s).
• Request the necessary resources (e.g., equipment and facilities) to support the
module team.
• Supervise and control the activities of their teams. Assign tasks to team members.
• Mentor and coach project team members.
• Provide performance feedback to team members.
• Collaborate with change management team to provide information and timing
for training materials, communications, and other change management efforts.
