Role/Title Conversion Lead
Role Definition The conversion lead coordinates the overall conversion effort. The conversion lead is
responsible for developing strategies and detailed work plans, monitoring progress,
and resolving issues.
Responsibilities • Provide expertise and leadership to the team regarding data mapping
specifications (e.g., tools, formats, default values, fillers).
• Work with development lead to ensure program code, new tables, panel
modifications, and the like are added to the system.
• Work with each campus to determine unique conversion requirements.
• Manage conversion project schedule, resources, budget, issues, and expectations.
• Supervise the conversion development effort for all modifications.
• Responsible for documenting and ensuring that all development and coding
standards are followed.
• Perform all design, code, and unit test reviews with each programmer for all
modifications. Sign off on all modifications.
• Estimate conversion work efforts.
• Provide expertise and leadership to conversion team.
Skills • Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of technical processes and relevant business processes.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the system development life cycle.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Issue resolution skills. Ability to obtain resolution by team consensus when
differences in business processes are discussed.
• Solid experience in large-scale systems implementations.
• Thorough understanding of the business organization.
• Solid understanding of business legacy systems.
• Solid understanding of data management, data conversion, and mapping.
• Strong programming skills.
• ERP implementation experience preferred.
