Role/Title Reporting Lead
Role Definition The reporting lead coordinates the overall reporting effort. The reporting lead is
responsible for developing strategies and detailed work plans, monitoring progress,
and resolving issues.
Responsibilities • Lead effort to prepare report inventory. Development module reporting specification.
Determine best approach for reporting (e.g., delivered, custom, query).
• Integrate efforts of all reporting teams (across modules).
• Analyze the impact of application changes on the reporting infrastructure.
• Work with each campus to determine unique reporting requirements.
• Help determine reporting architecture and report distribution process.
• Manage reporting project schedule, resources, budget, issues, and expectations.
• Supervise the reporting effort.
• Responsible for documenting and ensuring that all development and coding
standards are followed.
• Perform all design, code, and unit test reviews with each programmer for all
modifications. Sign off on all modifications.
• Estimate work efforts.
• Provide expertise and leadership to the reporting team.
Skills • Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent negotiating and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of technical processes and relevant business processes.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the system development life cycle.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Issue resolution skills. Ability to obtain resolution by team consensus when
differences in business processes are discussed.
• Solid experience in large-scale systems implementations.
• Thorough understanding of the business organization.
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g., SQL, SQR, Query/Crystal).
• Strong programming skills.
• ERP implementation experience preferred.
