You can select data for a PivotTable from the second page of the Wizard. See
multiple sources using the PivotTable and Chapter 8 for more on this option. The
PivotChart Wizard. The type of data you following table provides guidelines for

DATA TYPE DESCRIPTION
Excel List Limited to the size of 65,536 records, or rows. Each record can
have up to 256 fields or columns. The first row of an Excel list
must contain the column labels.
Database When you select the Database option on the first page of the
Wizard the second page lets you select the external database you
want to import into the data fields. See Chapter 5 for more
information on importing from a database.
Consolidation Ranges To use data values from multiple worksheets, you select this
option. On the second page of the Wizard, you specify each data
range separately. See Chapter 2 for more information on
consolidating data.
PivotTable or You select this option to use the same data that another PivotTable
PivotChart or PivotChart has. Excel only stores the data values once when both
share the same data, making the memory usage more efficient.
