Beams and Frames 101

Click Display on the Prepare tab, and click Solid Beams to show beam profiles
and orientations.

Note that 8 beams are used as H-beams in the above configuration. To fix the
misaligned cross sections, click Orient on the Prepare tab, and Ctrl-click the 8
beams labeled below to select them from the Graphics Window. Alternatively,
you may also Ctrl-click the 8 beams underneath Component1 to select them
from the left Structure Tree. In the lower left Properties panel, enter 90 for
Orientation to turn the H-beams 90 degrees about their neutral axes.
