■ Separating sick days, personal days, and vacation impedes
flexibility.
■ Packages allow employees with minimal health problems to
be available for ailing parents or sick children. Packages also
simplify tracking and paperwork.
■ Packages eliminate the employee’s need to justify time off.
■ Allowing personal and vacation days to roll over from one year
to the next is a small thing that can make a big difference for
someone who would like to plan for an extended holiday or a
reasonable length of time to visit distant relatives.
■ Rollovers and packages work well for employees who would
be penalized by losing days off when the year ends. Not
everyone works the system.

Would the company really fold if they stayed home? How
