Flextime
The Motivational Mindset
■ Flextime has become an important consideration for many in
the workforce.
■ Employees value—even demand—attention to work-life
balance or, as it is now called, work-life effectiveness.
■ Flextime attracts talented employees who might otherwise not
be able to bring their skills and abilities to the workplace.
■ Flextime reduces requests for time off and/or late arrivals and
early departures to attend to family and personal matters that
a nine-to-five schedule cannot accommodate.
■ Employees who have the freedom of flexibility are willing to
come through in a crunch. Many service jobs don’t require a
nine-to-five presence. Flexible employee hours often benefit
customers and clients as well as employees.
■ Flextime does not mean a free-for-all.
