Outlook—not Palm Desktop—copy the program into an Outlook
Note instead.
❏ Perform a hot sync operation; the memo will be transferred to
the PDA.
With the program now stored as a memo on your PDA, you can run the
program using HotPaw Basic. Find and launch HotPaw Basic from the Ap-
plication Launcher (it will be listed as ybasic). This brings up a screen that
lists the programs that HotPaw Basic found in the memo pad.
If triangle3.bas does not appear in the list, check to make sure that
❏ The program did indeed get loaded to the PDA.
❏ The first line of the program begins with a # symbol.
❏ The first line of the program then contains the name of the
program, which ends with the .bas extension.
Tap the program name, #triangle3.bas, and then tap the Run button. The
robot should now move in a triangular pattern.
Using a PocketC Program with the Robot
The C program, PocketPPRK, is probably the most extensive program avail-
able on the Carnegie Mellon web site. But to use it, you will need to down-
load and install the PocketC runtime for your PDA. Here’s what you need to
do to run the program:
1. Find the ZIP file PocketC_rt.zip on the CD-ROM in the PocketC
directory (the program is also available in a number of places on
the web, including www.orbworks.com and www.PalmGear.com).
2. Unzip the archive and install PocketC.prc and mathlib.prc to
your PDA.
