A centerline is a line with a property that makes it exempt

from the nonnal rules that govern sketches. When the
syste111 validates a sketch, it does not include centerlines
when determining if the profile is disjointed or self-
intersecting.

• Extruded Cut G!I: Use the Extruded Cut feature with the

Through All End Condition to create the first slot. The
Extruded Cut feature utilizes the Straight Slot Sketch
tool on the top face to form the slot.

• Mirror '*1: Use the Mirror feature to create a second
slot about the Right Plane. Reuse geometry with the

Mirror feature.

• Extruded Cut 11J: Use the Extruded Cut feature with the
Through All End Condition to create the Guide Hole.

The ROD glides through the Guide Hole. Note: The
purpose of this book is to expose users to various
SOLIDWORKS design tools and features.

• Hole \Vizard l~: Use the Hole Wizard feature to create

an M3 tapped hole, seed feature for the Linear Patten,.

• Linear Pattern ~&: Use the Linear Pattern feature to
create multiple instances of the M3 tapped hole. Reuse

geometry with the Linear Pattern feature.
