90 CHAPTER 3 DIGITAL DARKROOM SKILLS
TIP Keep a camera in your car and take pictures of the sky when you notice a particularly beautiful
cloud formation or sunset. You can build a library of skies for use in your projects.
10. Press Ctrl+A to select all the pixels in the sky image. Then press Ctrl+C to copy the selection
to the clipboard.
11. Select the house document window. The selection you made earlier should still be visible.
Choose Edit Paste Into, or press Shift+Ctrl+V. The replacement sky now appears within the
selection. Notice that the Layers palette shows a new layer called Layer 1, which shows a
thumbnail of the replacement sky with a mask in the shape of your selection.
12. Press V to select the Move tool. Drag the sky around within the image until you find an aes-
thetically pleasing location for the clouds in relation to the building. Make sure not to expose
the edges of the replacement sky image by moving it too far. Figure 3.21 shows the final image.
13. Close the house and sky images.
