er selection of a feedback control signal (FBS) for a regulator is crucial for
efficient mitigation.
Methods for smoothing heat loads in the ITER magnet cryogenic circuits,
which employ ACBs with a single LHe bath operated at a given temperature,
have been thoroughly studied [29–32]. Until recently, they were regarded as
basic mitigation strategies. With such control, an ideal FBS is proportional
to the mass flow rate of helium vapours returning to the cryoplant from an
ACB [32].
