Fluorine spectrogram of polymer MPEG-b- F07.

Fig. 3.11. It is clear from the figure that the copolymer mainly contains three
elements: C, F, and O. Additionally, upon spectrum analysis, it can be seen
that elements F have similar environments for spectrum displacements, all
around 690 eV. The two Os in the ester-group have different environments,
but the spectrums are close to each other forming one peak near 530 eV. For
C, the spectrum displacement is within the distribution range of 284B295 eV,
and the peak strength qualitatively represents the enrichment degree of every
element on the surface of the polymer. It can be seen from the figure that ele-
ment F of polymer MPEG-b- F07 and MPEG-b-F08 is more than that of poly-
mer MPEG-b- F06. This is because element F in fluorinated monomer F06 is
less than that in fluorinated monomer F08 and F07.

              3.2.2.2.4 Analysis of Surface Wettability
                1. Optimizing treatment condition of fluorine-containing amphiphilic
                   block polymeremulsion

Effect of fluoride monomercontent on wettability of glass slide: The amphiphi-
lic polymer emulsion, synthesized at different mole ratios of trifluorooctyl
methacrylate and polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether (MPEG), was used to
treat the glass slide. It was then dried at room temperature, and the contact
angle of distilled water on the surface was measured to obtain the result, as
              shown in Fig. 3.12.
