              If the fabric has asymmetrical stripes, their direction must be clarified from the
           sample and its technical documentation. When the direction of a pattern does not
           change, all the pattern pieces are placed in that direction. If the direction of a pattern
           is not fixed, the pattern pieces of two different sizes may be placed in different direc-
           tions, significantly reducing the consumption of material (see Fig. 14.14).

           14.2.4   The oblique placement of pattern pieces

           If the design of a style requires the components to be placed at an angle of 45 degrees
           to the direction of the warp, the stripes are matched for all the edges that are to be
           joined (see Fig. 14.15).
