9.11.2 Overall Process Results
The pressurized Aqua EMBR membrane module used has shown consis-
tency in terms of flux and product quality for the rejection of solids by mem-
brane (as shown in Figure 9.13).
Consistent performance can be achieved by maintaining steady-state
operating parameters and cleaning the membrane frequently in an overall
system. Figure 9.14 shows images of water at different stages marked as
(a), (b), and (c), where (a) shows feed water containing average soluble
COD 1800 mg/L, (b) shows an image of bioreactor sludge, and (c) shows
permeate water from the membrane after separation of sludge.
