5.8 RESULTS, INTERPRETATION AND DISCUSSION 127

EMGav: The rate of reduction in frequency was continuous throughout the period. With the
increase in time, the reduction rate of frequency also increased, which helped build better trust and
interest of the patients in the technique/therapy, thereby motivating the patients.
In the period of 3–6months, there was a steep rate of reduction causing a sudden fall in frequency of
TTH in subjects from 6.462 to 5.76/week, reflecting high improvement for the subjects.
The average reduction in frequency was 4.67/week, which is almost one and a half times bigger than
               that of GSRav (3.302).
Total dropouts in the experiment was 5.
Hence, we can conclude that the average overall reduction from EMGav is far better than that of
GSRav, resulting in better motivation, trust, and interest toward the EMGa technique/therapy and
               slightly fewer subject dropouts.
Also, on analysis, one can add one more numerical value to this graph, showing the rate of improve-
ment. This can be easily done by calculating the slope of the line for different periods, which will
provide the same base of comparison between EMG and GSR.

5.8.14 THE TREND OF AVERAGE DURATION
GSRav: The rate of reduction of average duration of TTH with time was not constant. There was a
major decrease in the rate of improvement of TTH duration in the subjects, during the start to 3months.
This might have been due to the disinterest of the subjects or the inefficient feedback process with
dropout of 1. During the period of treatment, the average duration of TTH decreased from 11.04 to
3.05h/week, i.e., an improvement of 7.99h of average duration was recorded with this technique/ther-
               apy (Fig. 5.21).
