In contrast, Fig. 5-20 demonstrates the load-deflection character-
istic of the joint under lower interface pressure [20], and it can be
observed that the joint behavior is similar to that shown in Fig. 5-19,
although the quantitative values are different, and no residual displace-
ment can be observed.
In summary, the static stiffness of the jointed structure is duly deteri-
orated compared to that of an equivalent structure; more specifically, the
smoother the joint surface and the less the flatness deviation of the joint
