Exercise 6E-1
The vibrotransporting tray shown in Figure 6E-1 carries a mass m. The flat springs
are inclined at an angle a = 10° to the vertical. The coefficient of friction between the
tray and the mass is // = 0.2. Calculate the minimum amplitude of vibrations of the tray
that will cause movement of the mass m if the vibration frequency is 50 Hz or
314 rad/sec; calculate the minimal frequency of vibrations if the vibrational ampli-
tude a is about a = 0.01 mm that will cause movement of the mass m. Assume the vibra-
tions are harmonic.
